Sports Camps at Camp JCC are geared for campers with beginner to intermediate skills. Our goal is to teach each camper something new and/or take their skills to the next level. Each instructor comes with experience coaching children and most are returning Camp JCC instructors! Campers will enjoy a snack and free swim each afternoon from 2:30-3:30.
Entering Grades 1-3: Week 2 &
Entering Grades 4-6: Week 6
Tennis: Come and join the fun at the Excellence Tennis Academy hosted at the Siegel JCC! The Excellence Tennis Academy is Directed by Simon Peppiatt with a staff of other professionals providing programs, camps, clinics, lessons, teams, and fun play for all levels and ages.
Entering Grades 1-3: Week 3 &
Entering Grades 4-6: Week 5
Soccer: Instructors will work with the campers to introduce and improve foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, small-sided games, coached scrimmages, and a daily tournament. Each camper will receive their own soccer ball which they must bring with them every day.
Entering Grades 2-6: Week 7
British Sports: Motivate, Activate and Energize your child with Challenger Sports’ new Multi Sports Program. Challenger’s team of British coaches will provide your boys and girls, with a memorable week of nonstop action, fun and competition. Sports include, Cricket, Rugby, Rounders, Handball, Soccer and more.
Entering Grades 4-7: Week 7
Wizards and Warriors: Get lost in a world of Fantasy and Fun! Campers will learn the fundamentals of Live-Action Roleplaying (LARPing). Campers will develop skills, from engaging in social interaction as characters they create to making and maintaining their costumes and equipment. They will also get to participate in light-touch fantasy combat with foam weapons and bean bags.
Entering Grades 3-7: Week 9
Outdoor Adventure: Experience the wild outdoors from the safety of the J! Returning instructor and avid Outdoor Enthusiast Mike Moran will lead campers as they learn valuable outdoor skills. Ever wonder how to set up a tent and campsite, what to pack on long hikes, and how to perform wilderness first aid? Ever want to learn flora and fauna identification and leave-no-trace techniques to be eco-friendly? You'll get to do all that here! Campers will also get to camp out overnight at the JCC on Thursday night, each a kosher campfire dinner, and sleep under the stars!
Entering Grades 2-6: Week 8
Basketball: Instructors will work with the campers to develop and improve their skills. The focus will be on the fundamentals and rules of the game. Drill games and scrimmages will be played each day to keep the campers engaged.
Entering Grades 2-6: Week9
Cheer: Coaches Kelly Quigley and Maya Bryant have over 15 years of experience with Cheerleading at Allstar, Highschool, and College levels. These UD cheer alumni are USAF certified at levels 1-4. They will work with the campers on stunts, dance routines, and multiple cheers. A short demonstration of skills they learned will be given on Friday afternoon.
