Sharks Swim Team
About Swim Team
The Sharks Swim Team is a fun-filled, competitive swim team open to boys and girls who have achieved at least a beginner level of swimming. The program is designed to bring out the best in each swimmer. Participants will be taught how to become proficient in all competitive swim strokes and will be given the tools to take their swimming to the next level, as well as learn the culture of the sport. Our Swim Team program promotes physical health, friendship building, positive self-esteem, dedication, commitment, and teamwork and is designed to develop each child physically, mentally, and emotionally in safe and caring environment.
The Sharks are open to boys and girls who have achieved at least a beginner level of swimming. Participants must be able to swim at least 25 yards on their stomach or back and must be 18 years of age or under. The Sharks participate in dual Swim Meets during the season and in two different leagues, one in the Winter season and one in the Summer.
WINTER SWIM TEAM
Welcome to Winter Swim Team!
This season we will be dividing our team into three distinct divisions:
Quick summaries provided below (please click here for more specific information):
- Developmental: Swimmers who are not yet legal in all of the strokes and need to spend the season building stroke mechanics. This group will practice twice per week.
- Traditional: Swimmers who are legal or close to legal in all four of the strokes, but who still need work on developing their stroke mechanics. This group will begin to work on improving endurance and race skills. This group is also for USA-eligible swimmers who do other activities and do not wish to put in the level of commitment required at the USA level. This group will practice twice per week.
- USA: Swimmers ages 9+ who are legal in all four strokes and have reached a certain skill level. This group is required to practice three times per week with dryland included on one of the practice days. A 4th swim practice is optional.
- High School swimmers who are members of our USA Team will still be expected to practice three times/week (High School coaches are usually very accommodating for swimmers hoping train with their club team).

SUMMER SWIM TEAM

Get ready for summer swim season by reviewing starts, turns, and the four competitive strokes! Start conditioning and build fitness and endurance in a supportive and fun group practice environment. This program is intended for swimmers who have previously been on a swim team.
Spring Conditioning begins April 2nd, Tuesdays and Thursdays, through May 23rd.
GROUP 1: Adom, Katom, Tsa-Ov*: 5 - 6 PM
GROUP 2: Yarok, Kahol, Segol*: 6 -7 PM
Group 3: Thelet, USA*: 7 - 8:30 PM
*If you were not on the 2018-2019 Winter Sharks and are unfamiliar with these groupings, please contact Stephanie for placement. Summer Sharks may be able to be placed. New swimmers may have to be evaluated. Adom, Katom, Tsa-Ov, and Yarok will focus primarily on stroke mechanics. Kahol, Segol, Thelet, and USA will ﬁne tune their stroke mechanics but will also work on conditioning and building endurance.
