
I realized today that some classes are too intimate to be videotaped.
I don't know if that will be the case for all yoga classes, but it certainly was for yoga with Courtney, and honestly? It was much needed. I think that yoga is one of those things that you get out what you put in, and it has the potential to really heal you both physically and mentally.
After a stressful week/weekend, this class really put me in a mindset I didn't even realize I was lacking. I tend to think of myself as a relatively positive person, but Courtney continuously reminds you to catch yourself any time you are thinking negatively: feeling like you aren't flexible enough, thin enough, strong enough. Recognizing your flaws and seeing them as otherwise becomes the main focus of the class. It's all about letting go of negativity and aligning your chakra. The moves, while potentially challenging to beginners, are easy to pick up on. Courtney allows you to modify the moves to your comfortability, reminding you that it's your practice.
I found a peace I didn't know I was seeking this morning, and I am so glad I was able to find it in Courtney's class.
