I have decided something: no one can be sad while hopping. You may be tired, you may be out of breath, but you are totally blissed out.
Also, everything is more fun while you're wearing a jangle skirt*.
Zumba with Lisa was very different than ZumbaLITE with Sigfried, though I didn't think that would be the case at first. While both are intense, I would say Sigfried's felt more like a workout. Note: That does NOT mean you won't sweat!!! Lisa will make you move the entire time, but her enthusiasm makes the time fly. It felt more like a dance the whole time, and Lisa loves to make you shake your hips. That's why she incorporate the jangle skirts; she wants you to focus on the way your body moves, and the sound and flow of the skirt creates a more visceral representation of that movement.
I feel like one thing I'm learning about myself on this journey is that I love Zumba, and what I'm learning about Zumba is that it's all about the teacher. It doesn't matter if you aren't a perfect dancer, it doesn't matter if the songs aren't your favorite. If your instructor is excellent, the class will be, too. I feel really lucky that that's the case here at the J.
