
You know your day is going to get off to an incredible start when it begins with a 4 minute plank. This is not an exaggeration. When we got ourselves set up for class (with a mat, gym stick with attached resistance band, and 2 sets of weights – 1 lighter, 1 heavier), Linda walked around to let us know that we’d be warming up with a plank. For FOUR minutes. The class participants had been working themselves up each week to be able to hold the plank for longer and longer. Linda encouraged us to do our best and take breaks whenever we needed, as long as we got right back up into position.
I really enjoyed this class and Linda’s instruction. The class moved through all the major muscle groups, slowly but surely exhausting all parts of my body. We focused a lot on our legs and booty, using both the gym stick and weights. We did multiple sets of each series of exercises to really work on strengthening our muscles. Linda offered variations for just about every exercise, so that the class could stay together through each set, while working at our own resistance level.
