We are excited to announce that our very own Ivy Harlev, CEO, has been recognized as one of the 2020 Women in Business by DelwareToday/Delaware Business Times. Women in Business recognizes leading ladies, across various industries, who demonstrate excellence, go above and beyond the call of duty, are committed to the community, and make a significant impact. As we're sure you know, Ivy's leadership has made a mark on our center and our community!
From DelawareToday:
The first woman to hold the CEO position since Siegel JCC was established in 1901, Ivy Harlev has been with the organization since 1998.
She was named to the JCC’s top spot in 2006, but at the time her title was executive director. Harlev lobbied for a name change. “A lot of women are executive directors, and a lot of men are CEOs,” she says. “I didn’t care about it for myself, but it matters for young women who will follow my generation.”
During Harlev’s tenure, the JCC has expanded its facilities and its membership while remaining true to its mission of serving the community, especially vulnerable populations. “The JCC is about creating and maintaining connections, a need accentuated by COVID,” Harlev says.
