Our staff team needs to be caring, honest, kind, flexible, and welcoming with all campers, parents, and fellow staff team members. The camp day is spent primarily outside except when the weather conditions require us to move inside. We look forward to receiving your application and learning more about you!

Available Camp JCC Staff Positions for Summer 2026
Camp JCC’s pay scale is based on paid work experience with groups of school age children and your college major/degree.
Break Counselor, Part-Time (Hourly wage range: $15.00 - $17.75)
Break Counselors work Monday to Friday from 11AM to 3PM with the same two bunks. Break Counselors are responsible for the safety and well-being of each camper in their care. They are expected to engage with the campers in a positive, proactive, and pleasant manner. Break Counselors will spend 100% of their time with the campers, following the bunk schedule. Bunk Counselor, Full Time (Hourly wage range: $15.00 - $17.75)
Bunk Counselors work nine hours per day with a one-hour break, Monday to Friday. Bunk Counselors are responsible for the safety and well-being of each camper in their care. They are expected to engage with the campers in a positive, proactive, and pleasant manner. Bunk Counselors will spend 100% of their time with the campers, following the bunk schedule. Communications Coordinator, Part-Time (Hourly wage range: $16.25 - $18.45)
The communications coordinator works 6 to 8 hours per day with a one-hour break, Monday to Friday. The communications coordinator is responsible for all daily social media content, photos, videos, e-newsletters, camp-wide communications, and creatively engaging with Camp JCC’s followers. The communications coordinator will spend about 60% of their time on administrative/editing tasks and about 40% of their time out on campus, capturing the joy that takes place each day at Camp JCC. Elective Staff, Part-Time (Hourly wage range: $16.25 - $18.00)
Elective staff work 5 hours per day, Monday to Wednesday and Friday. Elective staff are responsible for leading a group of 20 fifth to eighth grade campers through a program area of their choice. Elective staff are expected to have program content that is engaging, relevant, includes progression, and age appropriate for the campers who choose their activity. Inclusion Counselor, Full-Time (Hourly wage range: $16.25 – $17.75)
Inclusion Counselors are responsible for promoting the inclusion of campers who need additional support in a fun, safe, and enriching camp environment. Inclusion counselors need to be organized, have strong communication skills, work well in a team setting, and have a desire to connect individually with campers who have neurodiversity and/or behavior difficulties. Operations Team Member, Full-Time (Hourly wage range: $15.00 – $17.75)
Operation Team Member (OTM) is responsible for being the secondary person in the camp office responsible for answering the phones, directing calls appropriately, and welcoming campers, families, and guests into the camp office. OTM will need to keep the office clean and organized. OTM is also responsible for assisting the camp program with set up and clean up throughout the day. Specialist, Full-Time (Hourly wage range: $16.25 - $18.00)
As leaders in the Program Team, Specialists plan the development of a specific umbrella activity area, establish curriculum-based programs that reflect the goals and objectives of Camp JCC, and commit to the personal growth and overall self-image of our campers. Teen Leader-in-Training (LIT) Counselor, Full-Time (Hourly wage range: $16.25 - $17.75)
The LIT Counselor is responsible for their assigned group of teens with concern for their physical, emotional, and social well-being. The LIT Counselor will deliver leadership activities and resources, program activities, and serve as a positive role model to the leader-in-training teens. Teen Trip Counselor, Part-Time (Hourly wage range: $16.25 - $17.75)
The teen trip counselor is responsible for their assigned group of teens with concern for their physical, emotional, and social well-being. The teen trip counselor (TTC) will transport the teen’s in the JCC’s 10-passenger van to area destinations, maintain positive & appropriate relationships with the teens, and be a positive role model with the camp values in mind.
