SUMMER Staff

Outdoor Summer Pool Welcome Desk & Concessions - Seasonal Staff

Looking for staff to work at our Outdoor Pool Welcome Desk this summer (Memorial Day through Labor Day), with flexibility to work daytime and evening hours on weekdays and weekends. Responsibilities include greeting members and guests, making sure everyone is properly checked in to our software system, communicating with members, and selling snacks and drinks. Must be enthusiastic, animated, happy, and have a great smile. Must be able to articulate in a professional manner. Previous food service experience is a plus. Must be at least 17 years old to apply. BBQ Grillers

Available positions, open to high school juniors and above, include (click on the position title for the complete job description):

  • Unit Head: The Unit Head directs and coordinates the development of unit program, which reflects the goals and objectives of the JCC, and a commitment to Jewish values which aid children to affirm their Jewish identity, personal growth, and overall self-image.
    • Must have a college degree or equivalent experience
  • Office Manager: The Office Manager is the first face and voice someone is likely to encounter as they enter the Camp Office, and should greet parents and campers with enthusiasm, take detailed messages, and act as the communication center that allows camp to run effectively.
    • Must have a college degree or equivalent experience
  • Specialist: As leaders in the Program Team, Specialists plan the development of a specific umbrella activity area while supervising the Activity Counselors, establish curriculum-based programs that reflect the goals and objectives of Camp JCC, and commit to the personal growth and overall self-image of our campers.
    • Must have a college degree or equivalent experience
  • Health and Wellness Consultant: Our caring and enthusiastic Consultant is the health manager for the camp, supervises health and cleanliness standards, works with camp directors and staff, assists and reports on the mental and social well-being of campers, and helps provide adequate physical health conditions for all. Hours for this position are 9 AM to 5:30 PM Monday-Friday during camp.
    • Must have Current CPR, First Aid, AED and Medication certifications
  • Head Counselor: To assist the Unit Head in directing and coordinating the development of unit program which reflects the goals and objectives of the JCC, provide leadership to Unit and Floating Counselors, and ensures commitment the high quality of programming established at Camp JCC.
    • Must have a college degree or equivalent experience
  • Unit Counselor: The Unit Counselor is the primary person responsible for his/her assigned group of children with concern for their physical, emotional, and social well-being. Hours for this position vary.
    • Must be a high school graduate or on track to completing high school
  • Activity Counselor: As part of the Program Team, Activity Counselors direct and coordinate the development of an activity area, in conjunction with the Specialists, which reflects the goals and objectives of Camp JCC, and a commitment to the personal growth and overall self-image of our campers.
    • Must be a high school graduate or on track to completing high school
  • Office Assistant: The Office Assistant is the second person in the camp office responsible for answering the phones, greeting parents and campers when they enter the office, and keeping the office clean and organized.
    • Must be a high school graduate or on track to completing high school

Youth & Family

KidsPlace Afterschool Program Counselor

Directly responsible for supervising, engaging with, and ensuring the safety of the children in KidsPlace Afterschool Program. Hours: 3 - 6 PM, Monday-Friday (additional hours available for School’s Out Days). School Age Site Assistant/Coordinator Qualifications or college credits in education/recreation strongly preferred, but not required. Babysitter

Caring & friendly adult with childcare experience sought for evenings and weekends to work with another professional in the JCC’s babysitting room. Experience directly caring for children between the ages of infant and 6 years old required. CPR/First Aid preferred. Early Childhood Center

Assistant Teacher

The Siegel JCC Early Childhood Center in North Wilmington is looking for full-time and part-time Assistant Teachers to join our staff for the remainder of the 2017-2018 school year. Candidates should have an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher Certification from the State of Delaware to meet the state's early childhood teaching criteria. The Siegel JCC is a NAEYC accredited early childhood program, so in addition, applicants should possess the qualifications to satisfy NAEYC assistant teacher requirements. Full-time positions entitle the teacher to a salary commensurate with education and experience as well as medical benefits, retirement benefits and sick/vacation leave time. Part-time positions entitle the assistant teacher to a salary commensurate with education and experience.
